The Okuma Tesoro Spinning Reels are designed to bring high-end features to a well-priced reel, making them a top choice for serious saltwater anglers. Built to handle species like yellowfin, bluefin, and yellowtail, these reels combine power, durability, and smooth performance. One of the standout features is the titanium spool shaft, a rare addition at this price point, offering excellent wear resistance and reduced friction compared to traditional materials. This, combined with an IPX-7 rated waterproof body, ensures long-lasting performance even in harsh saltwater conditions.
Okuma has equipped the Tesoro series with an oversized brass main gear and a C-6191 brass pinion gear, adding durability and ensuring a smooth retrieve. The dual ball-bearing supported pinion reduces handle resistance under heavy loads, making it easier to fight powerful fish. Featuring both top and bottom drag washers, the Tesoro provides impressive drag strength while maintaining smooth heat dissipation, essential for long battles. Additionally, the loud drag clicker helps anglers precisely time their fights.
A small but impactful feature is the DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated line roller, which offers superior hardness and lower friction compared to conventional titanium nitride coatings. This enhancement improves line management and reduces wear over time. The forged carbon fiber handle knobs provide both comfort and a sleek aesthetic, while being larger than competing ball knobs for a more secure grip. As one of the few Okuma reels gaining traction in the Japanese market, the Tesoro series is proving to be a formidable alternative to traditional high-end spinning reels.
