The Raptus “Heavy Popping” series was developed by Ocean’s Legacy over a three-year period. After testing multiple blanks and guide layouts, the result is a rod that pops large lures with unmatched power and control.
Built to handle giant trevally and yellowfin tuna in rough seas, the blank is reinforced with dual multi Cross Core Carbon and multi-blend Japanese Toray graphite. This design provides maximum lure action while maintaining torque and lifting strength to stop hard-fighting fish.
The Raptus series features premium Japanese Fuji components, including a Fuji DPS reel seat with a custom Ocean’s Legacy locking nut and Fuji KW stainless-steel double-foot guides with SiC rings for superior heat dispersion and durability. Each model has been extensively tested at Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Montebello Islands, Cook Island, Fiji, and Oman.
