The Maxel Hybrid 25 Star Drag Reel is a standout performer in the world of high-performance jigging reels, crafted for anglers who demand lightweight strength and precision control. This model is engineered with a robust aluminum frame, keeping the reel ultra-light at just 12.7 oz while delivering an impressive 28 lbs of max drag. Perfect for serious saltwater and freshwater anglers, the Hybrid 25 is ideal for vertical jigging, bottom fishing, or casting, offering a powerful combination of strength and finesse that excels in challenging environments.
One of the most notable features of the Maxel Hybrid series is the integrated thumb bar clutch system, offering quick and easy spool engagement—a rare innovation for star drag reels of this caliber. This design enhances casting control and efficiency, especially when fishing deep water or heavy structure. Internally, the reel is equipped with stainless steel gears and a premium 8-bearing system (7 shielded stainless steel ball bearings + 1 clutch bearing), ensuring smooth retrieves and solid corrosion resistance. The 5:1 gear ratio provides a great balance between torque and speed, making it versatile for various species and techniques.
Whether you’re targeting hard-fighting pelagics offshore or big bottom species closer to shore, the Maxel Hybrid 25 gives you the edge with durability and smooth drag performance. It's not just built to perform today—it’s crafted to be passed down through generations. Sleek, powerful, and feature-rich, this reel continues to impress advanced anglers looking for cutting-edge tech in a compact, rugged design. The Hybrid 25 is truly a modern evolution of the traditional star drag reel.
