The Avet MXL 5.8 LH SILVER G2wgp (Left Hand) Single Speed Lever Drag Reel is a versatile and robust addition to the Avet lineup, designed to bridge the gap between the original and Raptor series. Built for anglers looking for increased performance and reliability, the Generation 2 (G2) Reels feature a redesigned frame with an updated look and enhanced functionality. With a 40% increase in drag output compared to the original series, the MXL G2 provides the power needed to target a wide range of saltwater species. The reel's lightweight and ergonomic design make it easy to handle during long fishing sessions, while the smooth drag system ensures consistent performance under pressure.
One of the key highlights of the Avet MXL G2 is the introduction of the ratcheting Glide Plate/Lever System, a feature previously only available in the Raptor series. This innovative system provides a positive button release stop at the strike position, making it easier to control drag settings during the heat of battle. Additionally, the faceted, knurled drag knob and lever grip enhance the tactile feel, ensuring a secure grip even in wet conditions. Increased line capacity allows anglers to load more line, making the MXL G2 suitable for larger line classes and ideal for a variety of saltwater environments.
The reel's refined dog and gear anti-reverse system adds to its reliability, featuring more gear teeth for better engagement and minimal handle back-play. This silent and reliable system ensures smooth operation, even during intense fish fights. Optional M.C. Cast Control is also available, giving anglers the ability to control casting distance and accuracy, which is particularly useful when precision is required. Weighing in at just 18oz, the MXL G2 is lightweight yet rugged, combining portability with the power needed for serious offshore fishing.
The Avet MXL 5.8 G2wgp Reel also offers multiple color options, allowing anglers to choose a reel that matches their personal style or gear. With a gear ratio of 5.8:1 and 38 inches of line retrieval per handle turn, the reel is efficient and quick, allowing for fast line pickup during hooksets and retrievals. Its versatility and advanced features make it an excellent choice for any angler seeking high-quality performance without the cost of a Raptor reel.
